Make a Tumbler Pigeon costume

Are you ready to bend, twist and tumble like Tumbler Pigeon?

Here are some easy instructions to help you dress-up like Tumbler – the bendiest bird in the Real Pigeons squad.

What you’ll need

  • A Large cardboard box

  • Tape
  • Scissors that can cut through cardboard (work with an adult for this, kids!)
  • A marker
  • Paint (grey)
  • Something to mix paints together on (a palette or even just a piece of cardboard)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Glue
  • Needle and thread or safety pins
  • Grey tights or stockings (for the neck)
  • Scrap paper, tissues or stuffing
  • A hat or beanie
  • White shirt and grey pants

Instructions

1. Draw two wing shapes on cardboard with Tumbler’s swirly feathers. Cut them out.

2. Paint both wings grey. Once dry, redraw the swirls on top if needed.

3. Use string, elastic bands or tape to create hand or arm holds.

4. Draw Tumbler’s face – or print a PDF of her face (5MB). Cut out the face and tape it to the front of your hat. You can glue it onto cardboard to make it stronger.

5. Cut one leg off the grey tights. Lightly stuff it with scrap paper, tissues or toy stuffing to make Tumbler’s neck. Ask a grown-up to help you seal both ends using thread, glue or safety pins.

6. Put your amazing Tumbler COO-stume together by attaching the neck to the back of your hat and the front of your shirt collar.
